Laura Owens

Laura is a Partner in Streathers’ Residential Real Estate team, advising high net worth individuals, investors and developers on prime central London acquisitions and disposals. She joined the firm in January 2018 and was made Partner in 2021.

Her practice centres on the prime and super-prime market, where discretion, pace and precision are as important as technical expertise. Laura acts on high-value freehold and leasehold transactions, development site acquisitions and financing, and the structuring of bespoke sales packs and tailored leases for developers bringing individual plots to market.

Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2012. She trained in the home counties, where she developed a particular expertise in unregistered titles and the more demanding aspects of title and lease rectification and registration — technical ground that frequently underpins prime residential transactions, and where precision is essential.

She is valued for making complex transactions clear to her clients, offering pragmatic advice that keeps matters progressing smoothly through to completion and leading the Streathers Residential Real Estate team.

Recent Experience

• Advising on the £4.4m purchase of a Grade II Listed Mews house, forming part of the Hyde Park Estate, subject to contract race and complex conditional contract terms.
• Advising on the £6.75m purchase of a grand Edwardian Terrace, encompassing 18 purpose-built flats, purchased by an investment company subject to commercial bridging terms, with a requirement for leases to be granted for security purposes simultaneously with completion of the purchase and lending facility.
• Advising on the £8.5m purchase of a grand Edwardian private residence situated in Notting Hill, London.
